LGBTQ+ Affirming, Rural, Southern Churches
A Project through the Louisville Institute Pastoral Study Program
From 2024–2026, I conducting interviews and compiled profiles of LGBTQ+ affirming churches in the rural southeast United States. These peculiar (or queer?) communities offer a breath of fresh air, a place of hope and belonging, and a story that resists many of the stereotypes of our region.
